Managing the Risk of Psychosocial Hazards in the Workplace

Join Business Chamber Queensland’s masterclass to understand the psychosocial hazards at work Code of Practice from both a theoretical and practical perspective.

The workshop will cover the theory of the Code and the reality of workplace injuries and psychosocial risks that arise. Hear first hand from the Australian Rehabilitation Providers Association about the obligations arising from the Code for employers, PCBUs, management and workers.

About Ezra Pyers, Senior Workplace Relations Consultant, Business Chamber Queensland

Ezra is an experienced Workplace Relations and Human Resources Advisor across multiple industries including hospitality, fuel retail, government and not-for-profit.

Prior to joining Business Chamber Queensland, Ezra was the Employment Relations Manager with the Queensland Trucking Association, the peak employer association for the Queensland road transport sector. In this role, he also supported Queensland businesses in the bus and waste sectors, advocating for members at both state and national levels.

Ezra has significant experience representing employers before the Fair Work Commission and Queensland Human Rights Commission, successfully managing disputes start-to-finish. He also has experience managing claims before the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission, Fair Work Ombudsman and advocating member interests to Queensland state parliament. Ezra has spoken on several panels and conducted training across the nation, sharing lived-in industry experiences and practical solutions.

Tatjana Jokic – Managing Director, JK Corporate Resourcing

Tatjana holds a BA in Psychology & Anthropology, Masters in Applied Anthropology and Master of Arts (Psychology). She is a registered Psychologist and is currently working in corporate health facilitating return to work programs and rehabilitation.

Tatjana has over 20 years’ experience as a Psychologist, working with individuals and organisations during this period to assist with workplace wellness, reducing the risk of psychological harm and in particular working with complex psychological claims within the health sector. Tatjana works with stakeholders to reduce the stigma attached to psychological claims and conditions, promoting the need to treat psychological safety the same as physical safety..

Megan Keily – Principal Advisor, Psychologist, Office of Industrial Relations

Megan Keily is a Principal Advisor and registered psychologist in the Psychological Health Unit at Workplace Health and Safety Queensland. Since 2005, Megan has worked in a number of strategic roles across the department more broadly and in particular, has gained extensive experience in workplace health and safety issues.

In the main, her practice involves the implementation of employer strategies to reduce the risk of psychological harm associated with work-related psychosocial hazards as well as building capability across industry to create and sustain psychologically healthy workplaces.
